Kolea Built on sacred Hawaiian land surrounded by fishponds, Kolea is a luxury beachfront rental property within the Waikoloa Beach Resort. It contains 17 custom oceanfront home sites and 126 condominiums. Buildings comprise three floors of 2- and 3-bedroom villas featuring exquisite garden or ocean views. The richly appointed interiors include a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, top-quality appliances and a wine cabinet; a large master suite with walk-in closet; and a spacious laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer. Living rooms feature an expansive sliding glass door that opens onto a private lanai. Each lanai has koa wood cabinetry, a grill, a refrigerator and a sink. Some units have an additional, small lanai outside the master bedroom. All apartments are equipped with wireless internet access.
Amenities in this deluxe Waikoloa Beach vacation resort include a Beach Club featuring an infinity-edge pool, children’s pool, lava rock hot tub, fitness center, and outdoor dining tables. Private gatherings may be arranged at the Beach Club Pavilion which has an adjacent kitchen for pre-approved special events. Several pedestrian gates throughout the property provide access to a path winding down to the beach at Anaeho’omalu Bay just a few minutes away.

This quiet Big Island retreat, with its elegant palms framing meticulous green grounds and vibrant shrubbery, invites you to unwind and get away. The fragile ponds that border Kolea are a haven for exotic fish, birds and sea turtles. The occasional migrating whale makes its way to the bay’s gentle inland shores. And the beach itself offers much in the way of snorkeling, boogie boarding, wind surfing or diving. Rental equipment can be obtained from the on-site concession stand along with reservations for sail or cruise events.

Kolea is centrally located next door to the Waikoloa Beach Marriott and across the street from the Kings’ Shops for a range of shops and restaurants. Also within a short walk is the expansive Queens’ Marketplace offering more shops along with a salon, a food court, a grocery store, and entertainment areas.

“Kolea” is the name Hawaiians use for the pacific golden plover, a shorebird that travels from Alaska to the Pacific Islands each winter and is commonly seen along grasslands throughout the resort.
